Review : Kopi Kalyan

there are a lot of new coffeeshop here in Jakarta, but now imma review one of it! A new coffeeshop that hits teenage and even adults attention to stop by. It is, yes just like what's the title ; Kopi Kalyan.

Where is it?

Kopi Kalyan located at the center of South Jakarta *no actually idk it is center or not* which is at Jalan Cikajang No.61, Petogogan, Kebayoran Baru. It is both hard and easy to find the place. The signpost is not that big, but what makes it harder is because there are a lot of cars park in front of Kopi Kalyan..but anyway just use waze or google maps, you'll find it! ;)

What's good about it?

1. Many spot to take pictures

Isn't it one of the reason why ya'll go to coffeeshop beside sipping a coffee and having a me time? Kopi Kalyan have a lot of corner to provide you good and decent pics! Here are the suggestions i give you :

you can sit on something-that-is-not-a-chair and make a pose!

you have 3 choices here : the white wall, green wall, and the white wall with the bricks. But imagine yourself or you and your friends on the centre of this picture..i think it would be nice!

an outfit-of-the-day photo in front of this less than half brick would also be great!

2. All the server/baristas are friendly

For the first time i came here, i was really confused what to order. Fortunately the server was very friendly - i wasted time just to think, so she helped me to choose what's good on their coffeeshop. I mean, there are a lot of servers that being mean when they have to wait for their cust to finally order, but here, you won't feel it!

I once sit on the bar with my friend while the baristas are all working inside their space. But suddenly one of them started to make a conversation to us and i have to say its a good one! They're up to date and fun!

I feel like they're very happy when serving customers. Its showed through their smile and gesture. You'll feel welcome!

3. Good ambition

I can stay more than 5 hours on Kopi Kalyan. ( I'm that kind of person who gets bored easily ) , so Kopi Kalyan is one of my recommendation for you to go. The music that they play is chill musics, no pressure. Go along with the situation perfectly. Not too crowd yet not too quiet. Even on their peak hours, the place tend to be comfortable. Oh and another story is..

Since many people also like to go to Kopi Kalyan for work, there are opportunities you'll find a person who's helpful for you. At the first time i went here, i met my friend Dini. In the middle of the time, we both draw with watercolour. She draws flowers for her sister and i draw her. I can say that i don't have any basic skill of drawing, but she has it! She's very good on her field. ~~Okay thats not the point.~~ While we were drawing, theres this guy that approached us and tell that our drawing are interesting! Long story shorten, he offered umm..what is it i have to say, a job? He offered us a job that relates on drawing. Aaand if you're curious, Dini's taking it more seriously than I do because Gosshhh i can't draw :(

See? Hang out can be profitable too :p

4. Friendly dog is here!

I've come here only twice, but i always meet this 3 years old alaskan malamute, named Teebar. He's verrrrry cool and cute and uhh everything nice..

You can take pictures with him, he really likes babies anyway. Teebar is more famous than you i guess...look at his instagram @matakuaja and just come to Kopi Kalyan if you want to meet/play with Teebar because he comes to Kopi Kalyan almost eveerrryday!

What to wear?

Casual clothes it is. Don't be overdressed if you're going to places like this or you'll be the star.. or you want to be the one who's people staring to? :p

How about the food & drink? And also Price?

They're good

Long answer :
I've ordered 3 menu so far. It is Fritto Misto, Nasi goreng ikan asin, and Mango Basil Smoothies.

Fritto Misto

Not my recommendation. Its a battered calamari, prawns, broccoli, and onions. At first i feel like order this because it sounds so satiate. But turns out there's too much flour on the food and the price is 50k. Its tricky because there are many kind of food but seems cheap. Yesssss the price reflects the food *boo

Nasi goreng ikan asin

Recommended! To be honest i can't see any ikan asin on the fried rice. But, the fried rice tastes salty and good. The price is 42k so yeaa you should try and you'll be full

Mango Basil Smoothies

!!!yes! I really like this drink. A recommendation from the server at the first time i went here. Doesn't taste much like mango but its just good. Refreshing, a bit sweet, the taste is just nice! Price is 38k
